![]() Many poker players focus on the subtle visual cues they get from their opponents before making bets. The famous actor was well-known for fumbling his lines, and often had to rely on cues to help him remember them. When yet another guest threw a glass of wine in my face I took this as a cue to depart. The most common meanings of cue, used as a noun, are “a signal to a performer to begin a specific speech or action”, “a feature indicating the nature of something perceived,” and “a hint.” Here are some examples: However, there are notable difference between these words, when each is used as a noun or as a verb. Personally I play with 200ms but really it depends on your own connection, reflexes, your choice of class and your ability to button mash such that with a 0.1 second queue, you need to press the button within 0.1 seconds of the previous spell ending to ensure the spells chain correctly. It can be tricky to tell the difference between cue and queue, as they are pronounced in the exact same way (like the letter Q). Many players find 100ms to be a sweet spot for allowing your spell to be queued correctly, but also to respond to procs correctly. However if you set it too low then you risk variations in your ping causing spells not the chain properly. This is fine for most situations however if you play a high APM spec or you play a spec where your procs or resources can change suddenly and require you to quickly change your mind as to what spell you need to cast next, then you will find that getting locked into your next spell cast 0.4 seconds early is restrictive and you will likely want to reduce the spell queue window. To compensate for this the game allows you to queue your next spell by pressing the button a period of time before the cast of your previous spell completes, and then immediately starts casting the queued spell. Any small delays of 0.1 seconds or whatever would add up to a lot of missed spell casts over the course of the fight. Without the ability to queue spells, you would have to press your next spell the instant the previous spell is cast. Spell queuing is critical for doing high dps.
